Twelve More Wells!

Twelve More Wells! As the rains began to fall in South Sudan on the Darfur border, the sounds of heavy machinery and large, pounding hammers could be heard all day and into the night. It was PPF's drilling team frantically digging to beat the rains. By mid-May, twelve brand new wells were complete. Twelve new communities now had a dependable clean water source.   The timing could not have been better. Not only are the seasonal rains making work difficult, the refugee community of Jaac continues to swell with new arrivals. Some are coming from the North to start a new life in the newly ...

God Opens Doors

God Opens Doors By Chelsea P. Although my family has supported PPF for several years, it wasn’t until last year that I began to read about the 100 Wells Campaign. I live in one of the rainiest states in the U.S., so no one worries about not having enough water to drink. I’ve never wondered where my next meal will come from or lacked clothing or a roof over my head. When I learned that people in Sudan were not only suffering from extreme persecution, but that they also lacked basic necessities, my heart felt torn. I had always known people around the world suffered ...

Start Where You Are

Start Where You Are By Gayle Parlett [caption id="attachment_100" align="alignleft" width="238" caption="Gayle with her husband, Don, and their children."][/caption] We laughed until the tears flowed. We danced with joyful abandon. We built deeper relationships, and we learned new skills. And this all happened in a completely unexpected way while serving God. In April, PPF Director of Ministry Advancement, Ed Lyons, spoke at my church, Bay Ridge Christian Church in Annapolis, MD. As he was speaking, I couldn't help but wonder how God could use me to help the people in Sudan. As a mother of two young children, going to Sudan seemed unlikely. Students Take a STAND in North Carolina

Students Take a STAND in North Carolina There are many clubs that high schoolers can join, and there are some who believe that these clubs exist merely to pad the college resumes of ambitious students. However, for dedicated members of the STAND organization at Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, this is not the case. Students who become an active part of STAND have made the choice to make a difference in the lives of people that they will never meet, halfway across the world. [caption id="attachment_90" align="alignnone" width="576" caption="Despite exams, these STAND students gathered to present their donation to PPF."][/caption] STAND, the student branch of the ...

62 Wells and Counting!

62 Wells and Counting! Persecution Project Foundation is feverishly working to provide a basic water canopy for the population in Jaac. The 100 Wells Campaign has drilled 62 clean water wells in Jaac to date, with plans to complete 100 by the end of 2010. But this aggessive goal is totally dependent on God's grace working through the generosity of thousands of Christians in America. [caption id="attachment_85" align="alignnone" width="576" caption="This young girl gets a mouthful of fresh, clean water from a new well."][/caption] By using your community in America to support their community in Darfur, thousands of lives are saved. But, most importantly, many souls are ...

Christians Gather in the “Heart of Dixie” to Support PPF

Christians Gather in the “Heart of Dixie” to Support PPF Enterprise, Alabama, is a unique town, because it's the only municipality in the world with a monument dedicated to a pest. More than 100 years ago, the boll weevil destroyed much of the area's cotton crop and forced farmers to diversify by planting other plants - including peanuts, which became a new cash crop. In gratitude for the unexpected blessing of this little bug, citizens of Enterprise built a monument in the center of town as a reminder that good things can come from unexpected places.   Matt Chancey presenting the PPF ministry at the 100 Wells fundraiser.   [caption id="attachment_81" align="alignnone" width="720" caption="Matt ...

Small Group Supports 100 Wells Campaign

Small Group Supports 100 Wells Campaign Dear PPF, One day, I was listening to a local radio station, and they did an interview with someone about Persecution Project Foundation and the 100 Wells Campaign. When I got home from work, I went to the website and watched the video, and it really touched my heart. I did a little research on PPF and saw that over 90% of all total donations go to program services. So for a small donation of $35, I could help provide clean water for one individual  for his/her entire lifetime and get a 100 Wells T-shirt to wear to tell others about the ...

Walk for Water

Walk for Water Recently, a PPF supporter organized a "Walk for Water" at Northern Florida Christian Center in O'Brien, Florida. The event was designed to raise funds for PPF's 100 Wells Campaign to provide clean water for thousands of Darfur refugees. Carol Hudgins contacted our office and told us her idea to raise money for PPF to drill another well. She recruited church members, family and friends to seek sponsors and to participate in the walk. On March 14, 41 walkers gathered for the event. Many Members, One Body

Many Members, One Body By Ed Lyons "For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also  is Christ. Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually." - 1 Corinthians 12:12, 17 By its very name, a divine appointment is when an individual or a group of individuals meet one another not by chance, but by an orchestration of events governed by our heavenly Father. We've all experienced divine appointments at some juncture in our lives. When we met our spouses, when we found the perfect job, and even when ...

Gift of Water at Christmas

Gift of Water at Christmas January 11, 2010 Dear Friends, Each year for Christmas, I give my family's "gifts" to a ministry that would be of interest to each one. There are 26 of us, and when we get together, I tell them where their gift went, and give them some literature about that project and ministry. This year, the gifts for the married men (6 plus my husband who lives in heaven) were sent to PPF for the well project. I said I knew how they would feel if they couldn't even provide safe water for their families, then each one (all 24 who were there) received ...
